Thanks to All My Supporters#

Publishing a wish list is one thing. But even without one, it’s only fair to say thank you. Thank you not only for the many gifts I’ve received over the years, but also for the moral support and even friendship that have been shown to me. Some of this can be found from time to time on my blog “Markus Writes”. Other things are here.

Even if they aren’t mentioned by name here, I’d like to express my gratitude to all those who have supported me with kind words, bug reports, and in many other ways.

Named Supporters#

In the “KOMA-Script Documentation Project,” there was a block in the right-hand column listing the named supporters for the current year and the previous year. Since I currently have no idea how to implement this with the Hugo theme I’m using, I’ll instead post it here for now. However, the list will no longer include only the “sponsors.” Instead, I intend to gradually add other supporters and contributors as well. In doing so, though, I’m relying on my poor memory. Therefore, I apologize to anyone who believes they should be listed here but isn’t. Please feel free to remind me of your contribution.

Several people have provided support in various ways:#

  • Ulrike Fischer (tagging code, bug fixes)
  • Alexander Cookie Willand (longtime tester, source of ideas, motivator, buffer, and sender of numerous gifts)
  • Kevin Pfeiffer (translation)
  • Gernot Hassenpflug (translation)
  • Krickette Murabayashi (translation)

Many of the people mentioned above should also appear (in some cases more than once) in the following list of sponsors. However, in some cases this was not recorded, and in others, they did not wish to be named.

Thanks to Unknown Donors#

Every now and then, someone sends me an item from my wish list, but either the kind person who sent me the item isn’t identified at all, or a name is provided for which I can’t find any address in my address book or email database. I’ve even received more or less anonymous deposits into my account. Unfortunately, I’ve neglected to thank them at least here until now. Unfortunately, I can no longer reliably determine which items were involved in past instances. Therefore, here’s a list starting now, sorted by date:

  • Thanks for the orange peeler. My old one already has a white bend (meaning it’s bound to break eventually), and until now I’ve always had to share it with the rest of the family. So this comes at just the right time!

  • Thanks for the case of Riesling. Unfortunately, the winery didn’t include a delivery slip indicating who sent it to me.

  • 2016-06-25: Thanks for the “Freudenbereiter” chocolate bar.

  • 2019-04-15: Thank you so much for the RAM wasn’t on my wish list for even a single day.

  • 2019-04-23: Thank you so much for the SSD.

  • 2019-05-24: Thank you very much for the book.

  • 2020-01-07: Thank you for the thermos mug. That, too, was on my wish list for only a very short time and was, in fact, sorely missed after my old one was damaged. So I’ll be using it for the first time tomorrow at the latest.

  • 2020-03-02: Thank you for the DVD “Wise Guys Live im Capitol” . I have a hunch that it’s from the same person who already gave me two books last week, but unfortunately I can’t ask them any more than I can thank the book donor directly, since I unfortunately only have a name but no email address for the latter.

  • 2020-04-27: Thank you for the bow tie. When the choir is finally able to sing again, it will surely serve me well.

  • 2020-04-28: Thank you for €10.

  • 2020-05-23: Thank you for “Queen Rock Montreal.”

  • 2021-01-26: Thanks for the YubiKey 5 Nano.

  • 2022-03-10: Thanks, Andreas, for the music folder.

  • 2022-08-11: Thanks for the SSD. Unfortunately, Amazon printed the gift message—which is in A5 landscape format—on an A6 portrait-oriented slip of paper, so I can only read part of the donor’s name, namely “NA-” and “NiC Donation Account.”

  • 2024-07-06: Thanks for the cordless bike pump.

  • 2024-12-16: Thanks for the music stand light.

  • 2025-02-15: Thanks for the M.2 SSD enclosure.

  • 2025-10-07: Thanks for the POP protection and music stand lights.

Thanks also to everyone else who sent me a kind word or more.
